THERE ARE OVER 150 MILLION TONNES OF PLASTIC IN THE WORLD’S OCEANS.

Did you know?

There are over 150 million tonnes of plastic in the world’s oceans. Tanzania alone uses an estimated 1.5bn straws a year, with plastic straws one of the top 10 items found in beach clean ups.
Global initiatives have highlighted the impact that changing from plastic straws will have for the environment, with some US states already banning them entirely. Tanzania is on-track to follow suit with leading restaurants set to introduce the ban, including KFC, Costa Coffee, Samaki Samaki and many more.

Throw-away consumption In the same way that we’ve seen behavioral changes towards single-use plastic shopping bags, the throw-away consumption of plastic products including straws is next.
